M-WERC will once again run its 12-week mentor-driven, technology immersive program using the Lean start-up curriculum and put participants on an aggressive custom- er discovery and business model canvas exploration. The program runs from September through December 2017.

Teams selected for the program will receive $20,000 as well as direct access to mentors and coaches from one of the Midwest’s largest angel investor networks. Acceptance into the program includes free use of the lab and prototyping space with a dedicated work cell as well as of cell and co-working space for your team. We’re especially excited about the opening of our newly constructed lab and prototyping space in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Highlights of the space include compressed air, high voltage electricity, 3-D printers and general fabrication, welding, and brazing equipment. In addition to the general tools and fabrication materials in our lab, teams selected for the program are eligible for a stipend of up to $5,000 to purchase additional tools.

Unique to our program, WERCBench Labs teams are assigned an individual mentor and coach as well as having access to over 90 other mentors from some of the worlds top companies such as Rockwell Automation and Johnson Controls. Access to leading companies in the Energy, Power and Controls sector, enabled by the M-WERC regional cluster of business and academic institutions provides unparalleled opportunities for start-ups and entrepreneurs in the energy industry.
